Nangyuan Island is 3.9 km away and reached by boat from Mae Haad or Sairee; its three islets are joined by sandbars. Diving trips visit sites including Chumphon Pinnacle, Southwest Pinnacle and the HTMS Sattakut wreck. Whale sharks are most often seen around Koh Tao from March to May and September to October.
